The image features a logo with the text "TEKAĞAÇ" in bold, uppercase letters. To the left of the text, there is a circular emblem containing a geometric design resembling a stylized tree, evoking the natural texture of wood. The entire logo is rendered in white on a transparent background.

We produce doors and other wooden products for large building construction projects.

OUR ORIGINS

In the About Us section, a person wearing blue overalls and a red plaid shirt is inspecting stacks of cut lumber in an outdoor setting. They hold papers in their left hand and raise their right hand to touch one of the wooden planks. Behind them are piles of similar wooden boards under a shelter.

Our founder Özcan Balkır, after graduating from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Civil Engineering in 1952 with a joint master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture, traveled around Anatolia undertaking construction projects. and the poor country were coming together in a heroic move of modernization. Mr. Balkır has completed many projects as an engineer and contractor, including the hydroelectric dams in Darende, Gurun and Elbistan. He saw the need for wooden parts for construction in the emerging market of the young Turkish Republic and in 1962 he established Balmal A.Ş., a sawmill in Yeşilköy for the first time. In the early 1970s, large housing projects began to spread. The only suppliers available for wooden doors and windows were small carpentry shops, which were unable to reliably supply wood products with precision, standard quality and in large quantities. Özcan Balkır saw the need for a sophisticated modern industry supplier and built Tekağaç in 1970 in Tekirdağ, close to Istanbul.

OUR HISTORY

The new sawmill began supplying timber to the construction industry in 1970.
The first sawmill was expanded ten years later with two modern production lines for doors and windows. Machines for door and window production lines were mainly imported from Germany and Italy. Automatically controlled drying ovens were built, a revolutionary addition at a time when most wood used in wood production was air dried.
In 2004, a new profile lamination and coating line contributed to our cost management and increased production volumes for architraves, door frames and skirting boards.

Our engineering department started to create our own woodworking machines in 2007 and automated these machines and product processing with PLC programming in 2011.

With our long manufacturing history, we pride ourselves on being a long-term partner to our customers and an important employer in the community.

Our modern polishing salon with high-volume automatic painting facilities was established in 2014.

In 2015, our old sawmill was decommissioned, and a new panel furniture line was installed in the old hall in order to better respond to the increasing demands of our customers for cabinets, kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

Our varnish hall was transferred to digital automation in 2017.

From past to present, our facilities have always been exemplary and state-of-the-art and continue to be, thanks to continuous investment and expansion since its inception. Today we are proud to show our visitors automated production lines controlled by computerized digital controls designed and built by our own engineers, which ensures precision and standardization in our production.
